Study aim of the objectives

Aim 1. Establish a cohort of individuals who have received PrEP in CA-IeDEA-affiliated health centers in Rwanda and DRC, and identify patterns of PrEP use, adherence and persistence. We will develop a cohort of all individuals who have received at least 1 PrEP prescription since January 1, 2019 and extract routine data from existing clinical registers.

Aim 2. Identify multi-level determinants of PrEP use, adherence, and persistence among individuals in
this cohort. We will collect supplemental quantitative survey and qualitative interview data from a subset of
participants identified in Aim 1 to identify and contextualize multi-level factors associated with PrEP outcomes.
