Rwanda establishes a national Health Research Agenda (NHRA) every five years to guide the conduct of research according to set priorities. It is paramount to regularly map all research as per the priorities first, to ensure monitoring the progress of the current NHRA implementation and second, to set the baseline for future NHRA. In addition to that, it is within ethical mandate to register your research for the following benefits, among others:
- Encourage national collaboration between researchers
- Reduce unnecessary duplication
- Preventing wasted effort and precious research funds
- Increase transparency
- Guide commissioners and funders of research allowing them to identify ongoing studies in their field of interest in Rwanda
