Prof. Jeanine Condo

Prof. Condo is a medical doctor and PhD holder in Public Health since 2009. She currently serves as the Managing Director of the Center for Impact, Innovation, and Capacity Building for Health Information and Nutrition (CIIC-HIN), a not-for-profit registered in Rwanda (www.ciichin.org). She also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Rwanda and Tulane University (USA).

She has previously held numerous senior governmental posts at the University of Rwanda and the Ministry of Health. Also, as the former Director General of Rwanda Biomedical Center (RBC) (2016-2019), an implementing institution of the Ministry of Health, she managed a team of 700 staff to use evidence to improve health care delivery in Rwanda. Together with her colleagues, she led the institution to perform highly and was able to achieve a clean financial audit for all projects (GF, GAVI, CDC, BTC, BMGF to cite few) and Government funds of approximately US$ 100 million.

Prior to RBC, she numerous leadership positions at the University of Rwanda including Dean at school of public health and later as Principal of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the same university that encompasses 6 schools (Medicine and pharmacy, public health, nursing, health sciences and allied, dentistry). I also served as a member of Technical Evaluation Review Group (TERG) at the Global Fund from 2015-2018 and a member of the International Advisory Group for Primary Health Care at WHO in 2018.

Currently she serves as a member of Evaluation Advisory Committee (EAC) at GAVI since 2016 and a member of the advisory committee in clinical trials (CCT) of African Academy of Sciences (AAS), counsel member of NCST (National Commission of Science and Technology) in Rwanda and a member of Rwanda Academy of Science (RAS) since 2019. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles.
