Alida Ngwije

Alida Ngwije is a public health specialist with over 12 years of dedicated experience in the health sector. Armed with a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology and a master’s degree in international public health, she brings a unique blend of scientific expertise and global health perspective to her work.
Currently serving as Associate Director for Infectious Diseases at Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI Rwanda), Alida plays a pivotal role in driving strategies and initiatives to combat infectious diseases including the elimination of Hepatitis C, mother to child triple elimination of HIV, Hepatitis and Syphilis as well as the design of a national plan for pandemic preparedness response in Rwanda.
Alida is a strong advocate of evidence-based approaches to inform decision-making and drive measurable impact. She is among the pioneers of this conference: “Rwanda Health Research and Policy Conference” launched in 2018, which highlights her commitment to data-driven solutions, her relentless pursuit of positive change and genuine dedication to improving health outcomes for the communities she serves.
