We are responsible for malaria prevention, vector control and case management, as well as addressing morbidity and mortality from neglected tropical diseases and other parasitic diseases.
We ensure that the entire population in need has access to quality early malaria diagnosis and treatment at both community and health facility levels.
We carry out vector control activities, focusing on coordination of indoor residual spraying, quality control of existing and new vector control interventions or tools, entomological surveillance including insecticide resistance monitoring, and capacity building in vector control and entomology.
We coordinate the procurement, distribution and proper use of quality insecticide-treated nets by the general population and targeted groups, including pregnant women and children under one year of age.
We coordinate data collection and analysis for monitoring and evaluation of malaria programme interventions for decision making and malaria surveillance for response.
We coordinate and monitor decentralised prevention, diagnosis, treatment and surveillance activities nationwide for the most common neglected tropical and other parasitic diseases in Rwanda.
