Study aim of the objectives

Aim of subproject A
To validate biomarkers predicting development of chronic cervical HPV infections in Rwandan and Ethiopian women

Aim of subproject B
To assess the prevalence of HPV co-infections in the anogenital and the oropharyngeal areas in a cohort of HIV-positive patients and their partners in Rwanda

Aim of subproject C
To assess the prevalence of HPV in the oral cavity in urban, suburban and rural areas in Rwanda and Zambia

Aim of subproject D
To assess the immune system in HPV-positive and HPV-negative cervical cancer and head and neck cancer

HIV clinic at CHUK, Outpatient Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinics at CHUK and at CHUB (cohort A & B). Huye (Kigoma & Mbazi sector), Burera (Butaro and Cyanika sectors) and Kimironko, Rwanda (cohort C)
