Study aim of the objectives

General Objective
This study will estimate the burden of STIs and generate evidence to strengthen and inform standardization of STI programing at both the regional and EAC Partner States levels.

Specific Objectives
i. Document the STI prevalence by syndrome and/or causative agents within the EAC partner states
ii. Document policies, strategies and guidelines in STI management within the EAC partner states
iii. Document STI management practices including STI surveillance systems within the EAC Partner States.
iv. Establish microbial occurrence and antimicrobial susceptibility of Neisseria Gonorrheae (NG) in the EAC region
v. Determine the phenotypic and molecular characteristics of organisms causing STIs and isolates of Neisseria Gonorrheae within the EAC region
vi. To identify key areas of harmonization in STI management within the EAC partner states
