The Tuberculosis and Other Respiratory Diseases Division has the mandate of promoting health and quality of life by detecting tuberculosis cases and providing effective treatment, prevention and control.
The Tuberculosis and Other Respiratory Diseases Division determines strategic orientation of tuberculosis control in Rwanda, advocating for resource mobilization. The division ensures the optimal detection of tuberculosis cases and leprosy patients, by providing effective treatment and public awareness for control and prevention.
The Tuberculosis Care and Treatment unit ensures early tuberculosis case detection, active case finding, and effective treatment coverage across the country.
The Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis unit ensures that all multi drug resistant tuberculosis cases are properly treated within multi drug resistant tuberculosis centers and also ensures effective follow up.
The Tuberculosis Infection Control unit promotes public awareness on tuberculosis for effective prevention and ensures that basic infection control measures within healthcare settings are observed.
The Other Respiratory Diseases unit ensures effective management of patients with respiratory symptoms, for successful tuberculosis control. In addition, it focuses on early detection of leprosy patients and provides effective treatment.
To end the tuberculosis epidemic in Rwanda by 2035, with zero deaths, disease and suffering due to tuberculosis
