PUBLIC HEALTH FACILITIES ARE AUTHORISED TO TREAT COVID-19

Kigali, January 16, 2021 — Following recent increase of Covid-19 cases in various parts of the country, the Ministry of Health has authorised all public health facilities (all health centres, district hospitals, provincial hospitals, University teaching hospitals and Rwanda Military Hospital) to Covid-19 treatment.
Community Health workers will continue to monitor Covid-19 patients in their homes (Home-based Care).Representatives of all public health facilities have been authorized to provide necessary medical care to Covid-19 patients using medical insurance.
Note: The cost of covid-19 test is not included in the services provided by the insurance companies. However, patients presenting symptoms will continue to be tested for free when requested by a doctor.
