National guidelines for HIV prevention interventions among sex workers
Abstract:
Prevention of HIV transmission among the most-at-risk population (MARPs) remains to be the main focus of the Ministry of Health. Sex workers constitute one of the key categories of MARPs and they form an important epidemiological link for HIV transmission to the general population. There is a need to implement these guidelines effectively to ensure that sex workers, as key populations for HIV prevention, get optimal health and social services in line with the objectives set out in the HIV National Strategic Plan 2009-2012.
