Rwanda has showcased the dash board system which proves to be effective in measuring Primary Health Care indicators in a way of stimulating users to take a decision where needed (with flashing alerts when reaching the threshold). Also, fetch different data sources in one page of analysis with a well-designed visualization graphs, charts, maps) \u2026name it. This will enhance health service delivery at the decentralized and district level.
\n\u201cThe dash boards will give an image on what to achieve and gain greater insight for performance indicators (KPIs) but also measuring the quality of care,\u201d says Jean Baptiste Byiringiro, RBC.
\nThe system was emphasized as Rwanda Biomedical Centre hosted a three day Workshop for Primary Health Care (PHC) Measurement for Improvement featuring collaborative members of Joint Learning Network (JLN).
\nThe workshop scheduled for 17-19th January 2017 provided members with the opportunity to work with peers and facilitators to assess the strengths and weaknesses of their PHC system; share experiences and practical tips for how to assess hard-to-measure areas including provider performance and patient satisfaction in a bid to support the development of measurement guidance in those areas and consider how to best monitor system performance.
\n\u201cThis is an essential meeting because Rwanda uses evidence and data to take decisions. There is no way we can review policies without backup and data is the needed backup,\u201d says RBC Director General, Dr Jeanine Condo.
\nThe meeting also reviewed the final version of the PHC indicator inventory, and PHC assessment guide while pilot countries will share progress made in the piloting process and lessons learned to date.
\n\u201cI am excited that the meeting has focused on quality and not quantity of Data.
