Speaking at the OneHealthDay 2025 celebration, DG. Prof. Dr. Claude M. Muvunyi emphasized the deep interconnectedness between human health, animal health, and the environment. He welcomed the launch of Rwanda’s Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (e-IDSR) system as a key milestone in the country’s One Health journey. With the new e-IDSR, Rwanda can now detect diseases earlier, track outbreaks more effectively, and share information across sectors in real time. “With this, we can respond faster, use resources more efficiently, and have a complete view of disease trends across humans and animals alike ”, he said.
